List of UK PhDs in Daylighting

Prompted by the discussions around the creation of the Academic Forum at the 2011 VELUX Daylight Symposium, we were reminded that there was little in the way of networks for PhD students in daylighting. The first step in the creation of a network is to at least have an idea of who else is studying similar or related topics. Hence the creation of this list for, in the first instance, UK PhDs in daylighting.

This page will serve as a repository for maintaining a list of current and completed UK PhDs in daylighting. A broad definition of daylighting is taken, so any PhD with daylight as a significant part will be included in the list. The list will serve to complement the activities of the CIBSE Daylight Group, in particular their annual Research Review.

The following details will be listed:

  • Name with [optional] link to relevant webpage.
  • Thesis title with [optional] link to relevant webpage. For completed PhDs it is hoped that the link will point to a download page for the thesis, e.g. PDF file(s).
  • Awarding institution.
  • Year of completion, expected completion or alternatively 'in progress'.

The list will be maintained in two tables. First will be those in progress which will ordered by family name. The other table for completed PhDs will be ordered by year of completion (and then family name) with the most recent at the top. There is no time limit, so the most 'ancient' theses can be added to the list.

Anyone on the list can request removal from it at any time.

Please email John Mardaljevic with relevant details to be added to the list.
